‘I am a junior at the University of North Texas. I am studying both Merchandising and Digital Retail. I believe my style is an unabated journey that will be mastered well into my old age.
Currently, I enjoy thriving in the environment around me; a few of my classmates, teachers, and other random folks I see on campus.'
'I appreciate the 1940′s – 60′s effortless styles of men like Sidney Poitier, Steve McQueen (Actor), Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis and Cary Grant. Each of their iconic films and music are not only a lesson on style, but a lesson on the mannerisms of a gentleman.
I often experiment with primary colors, classic clothing, and simple patterns that echoes this time period. My go to items are my pecan brown c-crown fedora and my navy blue PF Flyers. An acquaintance of mine named Ignacio Quiles said it best, “Enjoy what you wear. Wear what you enjoy. What we are wearing are art pieces. Go out and show the world”.’

On The Other Hand I Fancy A Well Tailored, Double Breasted Suit…
Story submitted by Oluwatobi Oluwalana
‘Seldom do you see a 16 year old dressing the way I do. The average guy my age would prefer a t-shirt, a pair of jeans, and the latest retro Jordan’s. On the other hand I fancy a well tailored, double breasted suit, an impeccable silk knit tie, adding the coup de grace with a pair of suede double monks.
I have always believed that the way one dresses is commensurate with the way one perceives and presents themselves and there’s no better way to shout who you are without uttering a single word than through the use of fashion.
I am aware that many have blazed this trail before me and my goal is to approach fashion eclectically, finding the style that consummately elucidates who I am right now and who I will eventually become.’

I’ve Called SoCal, Chicago, Japan And More, Home…
Story submitted by Josh Cooper

‘I’m Josh, a 17 year old living life in North Carolina though I wasn’t born and raised here. I’ve spent most of my life moving from military base to military base. (My father served in the Marine Corps for 30 years.) Because of this, I’ve called SoCal, Chicago, Japan, and more, home at one point or another. Though tough at times, moving every few years gives me a chance to be inspired be a plethora of people – both in terms of attitude and style.
I can’t really describe my style. I suppose it’s something along the lines of ‘Prohibition Era meets 21st century.’ It consists of classic pieces worn in a modern way – pocket watches and waistcoats are certainly two of my staples. But really, my style is more than the clothes that I’m wearing; my style is me wearing the clothes. I love 3 pieces suits as much as I do denim jackets and chinos, and I can have style in both.'
'Most 17 year olds don’t wear ties, but then again most 17 year olds are not successful. I’m not saying that a tie makes you successful, nor am I saying that I myself am successful. All I know is that I will be. Wearing a tie is simply me dressing the part.
Sure, most kids do not understand why I wear what I do, and they aren’t afraid to tell me so. But isn’t that what most innovators have to go through? I don’t wear what I wear to be different, I wear what I wear to be me.’
