'I'm a menswear designer. It wasn't what I studied to be or what I ever expected to become, but chance, an intense interest in classic menswear and supportive friends and family has given me the opportunity to follow this dream. I'm wearing one of the suits me and my friend and business partner Lars designed.
Since I was a kid I've loved clothes, and the many ways in which you can project different images of your personality by variation in clothing and style. My journey towards my current state of dress took the route via 60's mod style. I loved the music, attitude and style of the mods. It opened my eyes to sharp dressing, i.e. coat and tie. I started rummaging through my fathers old clothes and found a treasure of tweed jackets.
This was something like 10 years ago or so. Since then I have acquired vast amounts of knowledge about classic menswear. I have also started a vintage web shop and a clothing brand with a friend. The great thing is you never stop learning new things about classic style. I come across pictures of my grandfather wearing something nice, or see pictures from
the latest Pitti Uomo, and get new ideas as to how you can combine garments and keep on developing. It's an ongoing journey.'

'Style is a way of existence to me. Since I was a child I've been enamored with fashion. Growing up watching Dick Tracy and Tombstone and Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal I was amazed by the look of a fitted bespoke suit. I was raised in a Thrift Store so gaining a sense of style was second nature to me. My style is a reflection of so many Genres of music, film and entertainment.'
What is the Daily Fashion Project?
At nearly 200 Illustrations and nearly the same number of stories, after the first Daily Fashion Paper-Back and in the process of a second, and in the middle of organizing a series of gallery shows I feel that there is something missing.
The Daily Fashion started very simply. I wanted to paint more fashion and more people. I wanted something that wasn't just me 'styling' a look but something that shared the fashion that already exists.
In the very beginning we asked-
'What is your style?'
but that proved to be a rather vain question.
Then the question became-
'What is the story of your style?
but that still lacked any depth.
Now the question is
'What is your story?'
and in this there has been a subtle shift.
Fashion is not clothing. Fashion is people. Clothing just helps to tell the stories of people. Each of us has a story and these stories are beautiful and important
Our stories help us communicate with each other. When we communicate we have deeper understanding. When we understand each other we start to build friendships. When we are friends we have a real community.
What do you think of this mission statement?
The Daily Fashion Project is the stories of people through watercolor and written word.
