100 Watches Project Book
Now that the '100 Watches Project' is nearly a third of the way through I am excited to discuss the idea of a '100 Watches Book'. Below are some images I mocked up to share the idea but I need some input. I want to know what you would be interested in purchasing if the book were to come to life. As the project has always been driven by your submissions I thought it only fitting to get your advice once again.
There are so many considerations when designing a book. What size should it be? Is paperback or hard cover better? How many pages should there be? Who should publish it? Should it even be published?
These are the questions I hope to answer with your help.
The form at the bottom of this post will help me answer all of these questions.
100 Watches Calendar
Now you can track which watch will be painted when. The 100 Watches Calendar is updated as submissions are sent in. If you are wondering when your watch will be painted check out the calendar. If you want to purchase your watch ahead of time so no one else can swoop in you now have the opportunity to know which day to purchase.
Watch 31 Tag Heuer
This Tag Heuer Monaco watch was submitted by Patrick Lukow.
'I wanted to submit this watch because it is the one that really got me started with watch collecting. I really like the square case, raised sapphire crystal, and the blue dial. It has a good look with either casual or formal attire, and has a unique look on the wrist without screaming for everyone's attention. It's a classic.'
Patrick is the first to take advantage of the pre-sale opportunity in the '100 Watches Project' Gallery. He was really excited about his submission and made sure to let me know that he was interested in having the first chance to purchase. Before it was even posted and finished Patrick purchased and owned his great Tag Book Page illustration.
Watch 30 Rolex
This Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watch was submitted by Eric Masson.
'I bought this watch because it s from my birth year and i thing it s the most beautiful chronograph ever.'
Now nearly a third of the way through the '100 Watches Project' I finally feel that my technical skills are beginning to catch up to the brilliant details in each of these watches. Take a look at the Rolex crown and the detail in the bezel. The image is starting to sing.
Watch 29 Chopard
This Chopard Happy Sun watch (with Thomas Sabo bracelet) was submitted by Rodolfo Suro (instagram user @rodolfosuro).
The Happy Sun watch by Chopard fits a Sunday perfectly. Growing up in West Michigan Sundays were beautiful. Sundays meant open doors, cool breezes, football on the television and sunny days.
I know that it is impossible for every Sunday to have been a perfect day but when I think back to Sundays I cannot help but smile. This day in North Texas shows signs of the cooling summer. The sky is bright with the shining sun and- though this may expose my true allegiances- I couldn't help but smile when the Detroit Lions defeated the Chicago Bears.
Watch 28 Helson
This Helson Shark Diver watch number 2 was submitted by BK (instagram user @kicktoc).
BK, 'The Helson Shark Diver was my first Father's Day gift from my wife and the SevenFriday was my first fathers day gift to myself!!'
This Saturday in Fort Worth has been a cloudy and rainy affair. It seemed that a fun and creative take on watches was finally due. The BK submission with the flowers in the background made a perfect addition to the '100 Watches Project.'
Watch 27 Dapper Time
This Dapper Time Gemini watch was submitted by Dapper TIme (instagram user @dappertime).
Dapper Time was even kind enough to send over a watch that I could use to paint from instead of a picture. I am extremely grateful for their generosity and for the work they do. Check out DapperTime.
The Dapper TIme watches keep showing up on the wrists of some of my favorite people. Joe Demadura and Dominique Waters are two notable examples. I couldn't help but do a wrist shot of my own.
Watch 26 Bell & Ross
This Bell&Ross Limited Edition watch was submitted by Simon Cudd (instagram user @simoncudd).
Watch 25 Invicta
This Invicta Hunter 50mm watch was submitted by Angel Jimenez (instagram user @mrsinista13).
Watch 24 MB&F
This MB&F HM4 Thunderbolt watch was submitted by Alexander Foe (instagram user @alexfoe).
'This watch is a revolution and a major breakthrough in a horology world. It's an art, architecture, and horology combined in the best form possible...'
