'As an actor based in NY, I often feel I have to don a more "basic" or "muted" look, a la jeans and tee shirt, for auditions and rehearsals in order to allow the powers-that-be to really "see" me and my work without distraction. But being a creative person, I've always loved expressing myself through personal style. Consequently, I relish the opportunities to dress up and out whenever I can. Opening Night. A friend's wedding. Birthday dinner party. The bow tie and Italian leather Oxfords come out!'

'My style, as I'm still discovering it and it is still evolving, is nothing less than a reflection and expression of the phase in my life that I am in. In 25 years I have lived in Washington, California, Louisiana, Texas, Michigan, and now Illinois. I have come across many people, many styles, and with the addition to my artistic upbringings, I have begun to fine tune my style.
Coming up wearing long-tall white tees, Girbaud jeans, Dickies trousers, and Nike sneakers, I use my style to celebrate progress, intelligence, wisdom, refinement, and the notion that we are always learning. You cannot buy style; the threads to display your style are purchased with your passion, eloquence, and ability to take risks.'

Sometimes What We Wear On The Outside Covers Who We Are On The Inside

'The way you carry yourself aesthetically in many ways dictates the manner in which people interact with you. I just wanted to change that discourse. I'm not attempting to be curt. By dressing like an adult you should want to be addressed as such. That's either with distinction or respect.
I don't dress up I've just grown up. In the early 2000's I was on the A-train going to college, where I was studying to be a Speech-Language Pathologist. Feeling real fresh, I was wearing my North Face puffer, throw back jersey, fitted with "Constructions" to match. I was standing beside an old lady who took notice of my outfit. She then clutched her purse a little tighter. To be honest, I couldn't blame her.
Sometimes what we wear on the outside, covers who we are on the inside. From that day onward I started to pay closer attention to my fashion and what it spoke of me to the world. Now, I use my style to be addressed in a manner that's more befitting to who I am.'
