'I decided to step up & change my style to something more presentable...'

'I became interested in men's fashion when I first attended college at Grambling State University. I've come a long way from big shirts & baggy jeans. Let's say I reinvented myself. I gained a wider outlook on life from going to one environment to another. Going to college was the best thing for me.
Growing up in a poverty area of New Orleans, it was rare seeing guys in suits & ties. I always was around the rough & tough guys that wore hats & jerseys. My first experience of changing my style of dressing is when I attended a frat party where the dress code was enforced with no t-shirts or sneakers. Therefore, I decided to step up & change my style to something more presentable. Starting at the beginners stage, I reached out for help from friends & classmates that already knew more about fashion & better knowledge of looking dapper for formal events.
My first try was not that bad, I received a few compliments to say I was just learning, I wore a white long sleeve button up from Walmart, a friends Calvin Klein tie, straight leg Levi pants, and Stacy Adams dress shoes. It came out pretty ok. As of today I'm more experienced and now I help others to coordinate outfits for different functions & events.'

'My grandfathers both dressed to impress no matter where they were going...'

'My grandfathers both dressed to impress no matter where they were going. I was always taught to "look your best because you never know who you may run into" and to "dress for the job you want, not the one you have."
It feels great to know that I can express myself and my personality through my style without having to say a word. First impressions are everything! Although they worked blue collar jobs, they went to work looking like success! Suspenders, suit, ties, and hats were always a necessity for my grandfathers especially with their Sundays best outfits.
My favorite ties are the vintage ones from my grandfathers and I incorporate them into my personal style often. It feels great to know that I can express feelings, personality, and keep the family tradition of style alive through my clothing without having to say a word. First impressions are everything!'

'As a child, I wore a double-breasted jacket and trousers every day, inspired by David Letterman and I was molded into an entertainer from the beginning. I chose my own clothes and "performed" at every opportunity. Of course, I lost my roots growing up, but I have grown to appreciate my dandy childhood, now that I'm in college.
Studying Marketing in university, as well as performing elegant close-up magic has inspired me to dress well again. It's important in both my interests to pay careful attention to the details, so the wonderful universe of menswear beckoned to me with its kindred spirit. I have dived deep, and I haven't looked back.'
