I prefer going wrong by my self and to learn by my own mistakes because I think it's the only way to learn something. There is nothing wrong with making a mistake, it would be wrong to make a mistake twice.
If you had to choose a different career, what would you be doing?
I think I would have been an architect, my life is a whole perspective.

Cafe Gilli sits on the Piazza della Repubblica, soaking in the sounds of children's laughter on the carousel, the exuberance of musical performers and the hum of the shifting crowds.
Tucked away in a nook I was struck by the elegance of Angelique Noir and Guillaume Bo. We were meeting for drinks, a favorite activity of mine. I, of course, had an espresso. I mean, this is Italy after all. Both Angelique and Guillaume took tea for the evening. Establishing even further the elegance of their pairing.
Surely there was a time where Guillaume and I had our digital wires cross, but I do not recall. This was our first meeting as actual humans. I had reached out to do an interview and portrait of Guillaume by email but he deferred to human conversation rather than a digital exchange. Thus I found myself sitting at Gilli, in conversation with two amazing people, shamed by my inability to match in elegance.
This, if you haven't yet noticed is a departure from the usual format- question and answer. I didn't ask any of the usual questions, even one of my favorites. You know, the one about dragons...
But I did learn a few things that I will share here. A few tidbits of insight into the man, Guillaume Bo.
1- Gui loves Coke. That's right, Coca Cola. Don't give him coffee, don't give him wine, give him a Coke.
2- In another life, years past, Gui was a DJ and producer.
3- Born in Montreal, Gui is French-Canadian and has lived in both Canada and France. And New York and San Fransisco and, well just ask where he hasn't lived.
4- Bring up a moment in history and you'll have a conversation with Guillaume. He is a man who loves to discover the breadth and depth of his favorite subjects (including Coca Cola).

Has one piece of art, literature or music helped shape who you are today?
When I was about 16 years old I developed a liking for those classic crooner tunes like those by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, and even modern artists like Michael Bublé. These musicians and the music they made held my attention for years until my liking of their music grew into an intrigue of the lifestyle surrounding it. This inspired me in both my dress and hobbies during my free time. From my more classic menswear-inspired wardrobe, to my love of cigars and fine spirits. Their music did and continues to influence my life every day.
What does your favorite article of clothing say about you?
My favorite piece of clothing is something that makes it into every single one of my outfits every single day. It is my signet ring, worn on my right hand's ring finger. It is sterling silver with a black onyx at its center, and was a gift from my mother years ago. As far as what it says about me, aside from being an incredibly dope looking ring, it reminds anyone who knows me about how much my mother and by extension, my family mean to me. Growing up I learned from my mother that family is one of the most important things in this life, and I am reminded of that each time I put on my ring in the morning. This ring says that above almost all else I am very family oriented at heart and take things of that matter very seriously.

Maybe cashmere. So that when I’m laying atop of it, there’s a highly level of comfort. If not that, gold!
Tell us about one person who made an impact on your life.
My mom, Jacqueline Peele. She passed away when I was 11 years old, but, the time we spent together was filled with life lessons. She was also one of the most stylish people that I personally had the pleasure of knowing. One of the biggest lessons are learned from her was about working hard without the expectation of being recognized.
Tell us about one place that made an impact on your life.
North Philadelphia had the greatest impact on my life. I’d love to say that attending Central High School or Ursinus College was that one place that impacted my life the most, but, growing up North Philly had the greatest impact. There’s a hustler’s mentality that can only be honed there that I’ve taken into every situation and opportunity that has come my way.
Do you prefer to learn from other's mistakes, or make your own mistakes?
I prefer to make my own mistakes. This isn’t to say I go blindly into situations where people have trotted, not knowing of what went wrong for them. But, there’s an understanding that my way could be the solution to a problem.

This question is interesting... Many things in my mind..., for example, to found an art gallery or to be a "mecenate" (patron of art)! The art and beauty in every form, especially in this epoch, needs to be protected and supported.
