and the W Hotel Buckhead
After living 4 years in Atlanta, studying at SCAD Atlanta and getting his start in art and fashion, Sunflowerman left to live abroad for 4 years. He spent time in Milan, Florence, London and Paris. Eight years after first setting foot in Atlanta Sunflowerman is back.
Sunflowerman’s partnerships have included companies such as
His private collectors include clients in Hong Kong, Sweden, Switzerland and England.
Social Media Impact
Sunflowerman documents the process of his art with photos, videos and time lapse videos which he shares with more than 50,000 followers on social media. 60% are between the ages of 25-44, with a nearly 50/50 split between men and women. 50% are in the US, with NYC, and DFW representing the largest US demographic and London and Paris representing the largest foreign audience.
The attached image is an example applied to a stock room. His face is intentionally left blank to allow viewers to impose their own perceptions. Figures can also be made to resemble important Atlanta figures such as Outkast, Gucci and Janelle Monae.
There will be 10 templates, 5 men and 5 women.
Each template will have 30 color schemes so that each room of the hotel will not have a repeated design.
Each design will have unique and different details from pocket squares, shoes, hats, glasses, watches to bracelets so each room of the hotel will be unique.
Templates are designed to have a large impact with a minimalistic approach, considering deadlines for completion.
Estimated time to completion is between 40-60 days. Estimate factors include-
Set up time
Taping off rooms for painting
2-4 people executing designs
Variable room sizes
Compositions can be adapted to fit large, small or misshapen spaces.
Here's a view into the process of creating the templates for the Woodbine Development project in Atlanta. Before the W Hotel paintings begin I will have gone through more than 200 sketches to define the templates.
