Watch 75 Citizen

This Citizen 'Autozilla' Pro Diver watch was submitted by Harvey Neustadt III. -instagram user @mariner_7

'This watch for me is the epitome of what the strengths and abilities of a true dive watch should feature.

It uses a finely tuned miyota workhorse 8203B movement housed inside a rubber ring inside the case to make it virtually shockproof. Large crown at the 9 position to give excellent hand/wrist articulation. A remove-able bezel for cleaning, complete with lever lock mechanism to prevent accidental loosening. 1000M water resistant, titanium case with a 'duratect' coating to prevent scratching, 6mm thick sapphire domed crystal with AR coating, automatic HEV, true ISO 6425 certified.

The design is very striking, it is a large watch at 48mm case size, 55 with the crown, I believe. However the titanium construction makes it feel lightweight and the case back style and design allows it to wear very comfortably. The bezel is ashtray-esque and grips nicely because of this.

The bezel is raised so it protects the crystal very well. Very well thought out by Citizen. It features very bright blue lume and uses large hands including an orange minute hand and raised, polished edge indices, and pointed seconds hand. It also has a day/date wheel, which further solidifies this as a true tool watch.'

Watch 73 Omega

This 1965 Omega Speedmaster 'Pre-Pro' watch was submitted by Balthasar de Pury (instagram user @balthasardepury).

'One of the favorite timepiece in my collection, 1965 Omega Speedmaster 'Pre-Pro' (so-called 'Pre-Professional', the contracts were signed with NASA to become their official timekeeper in 1965, from 1966 the word 'Professional' was added on the dial) equipped with the famous caliber 321! The first Speedie I bought, six other followed since then and the addiction of collecting never stopped growing ;)'

Watch 70 Panerai

This Panerai PAM 104 watch was submitted by Justin Barr.

Panerai watches have shown up on the 100 Watches Project many times now. Slowly I have come to love these simple yet beautiful watches. This 104 looks great with the black and green strap, mimicking the colors in the watch itself.

Watch 69 Hublot

This Hublot Big Bang watch was submitted by Antonio Lewis (instagram user @theurbananimalscientist).

Antonio is a brilliant entrepreneur and a good friend. We met at a boutique coffee shop in Atlanta, GA and quickly became friends. He owns The Urban Animal Scientist, a pet brand focusing on men and their dogs- hand sewing the collars and hand making most of the other products as well. Antonio is a product designer, package designer, web designer, brand designer and whatever other sort of creative he sets his mind to be.

I remember hearing Antonio talk about his Hublot long before I began my interest in horology. His passion for Hublot long outdates the watch brands recent pop success. I wonder if his passion is part of what led me into the 100 Watches Project.

Watch 68 Rolex

This Rolex Submariner watch was submitted by Bill Nam (instagram user @watchmylegacy).

'The watch I am submitting is my rolex submariner 116610. This was the biggest investment I've made and it was from my own education and history of the watch that attracted me to it, and by no means not because of its name and prestige.

To me, it is a symbol of hard work and hope; the image that comes to mind is my father who owns his own vintage submariner that he received as a gift and he cherishes it. My father works to the point he considers it a part of life, and as long as his family that he works for is well off because of his sacrifices, he will continue to push.

Thank you for your time! And hope to hear from you soon.

Steven

Respectfully,'

Watch 66 Binary Watch

This Binary Watch was submitted by Reid Rosbottom

'I saw the watch at a yard sale down the street and had no idea what it was. I asked them and they told me that it was a binary watch. You press a button and certain lights on the face light up. To tell the time you add the top row of lighted numbers to get the hour and add the bottom row to get the minute. I bought it for $5 and use it whenever I can.'

Reid was in the last class that I taught at One Love Generation in Atlanta, GA. Though he is still very young his knowledge of the local art scene and passionate creativity was astounding. It was very exciting when he decided to submit his Binary Watch to the 100 Watches Project and it is my honor to present it to you now.
