He Would Piece His Looks Together One Accessory At A Time

'My story starts as a young adult in Highschool, still going through the rough process of finding myself, but not finding myself becoming someone else. So through school I really took a liking to Blake Scott and how he would piece his looks together one accessory at a time. That's when the thrift store visits came about. Soon after my peers as well as my siblings could see me turning into a well dressed gentlemen as the days continued. With style it's always going to be who you are, but you always need a little bit of inspiration.'

It Can Be A Tool For Growing The Bonds Of A Family

'Running a business is never a cakewalk. Trying to make a name for our company in the increasingly competitive menswear space is a constant struggle, but it's what I'm most passionate about. And what else would I do? Watch my dreams slowly evaporate away from the confines of an office cubicle? I've tried that. It wasn't who I am.
True passion is rare in this day and age. Whatever sacrifices I've had to make have been worth it, every step of the way. Growing up, there was only one stylish member of my small family, my uncle John. He managed a Repp Big & Tall in Mid-Michigan and had a respect for menswear that I never truly understood until after he had passed. After the funeral, I came to inherit a collection of old photographs from his side of the family. Leafing through, I noticed that he never had the same tie on in any two separate photos. There's something to be said about a man who places that level of care into his wardrobe.
Fast-forwarding a decade, I now manage Tie Society- the largest online necktie and menswear accessory rental service. I can tell that it makes my mother proud, not only because I've been successful in my endeavor but because I've been able to carry on the
legacy of her brother, who had no children himself.
Style is bigger than just what you'd find in a magazine or online. It can be a tool for growing the bonds of a family."

In A Place Where Everyone Could See And Hopefully Draw Inspiration
Daily Fashion Illustration 176. Tuesday, May 6. 2014

'I launched my plus size style blog, Beauticurve.com in January 2013 after much encouragement from strangers, friends and a growing Instagram audience. So many people tell me, “I saw that but I didn’t know what to wear with it”, or ” I would have never thought to shop there”.
I wanted to journal my fashion adventures in a place where everyone could see and hopefully draw inspiration. As a plus size girl, I have grown to be very comfortable with my size and actually enjoy myself as I am. I believe style has nothing to do with what size you are. Fashion is for all sizes. If you are plus-size that doesn’t mean you have to be condemned to a lifetime of oversized clothes or a wardrobe of black.'
