I Was A Destination For My Brothers’ Hand-Me-Downs As A Child…

‘I was born into a large family, and was the destination for my brothers’ hand-me-downs as a child. I distinctly recall one moment when I was ten years old, a classmate poked fun at my shirt. After which I vowed to never let myself be put in that situation again. As a teenager I started a small business with the intention of funding a growing clothing obsession.

Years later, my interest in dressing and luxury menswear took a new focus when I was recruited by Tom Ford to head their brand development, made to measure and personal shopper programs in South Florida. While at Tom Ford, I started an online visual blog on Instagram under the original name @dailystylebattle, which quickly garnered over 25,000 followers. @dailystylebattle featured my personal style photos and led me to being featured in various “best dressed” stories with major outlets, including GQ.'

'In 2013, I changed my Instagram name to @aleksmusika and met Davidson Petit-Frère, who had been growing an avid personal style fan-base under his Instagram profile as well. With a shared vision in creating a luxury menswear brand that focused on the best fabrics and modern styling, we set out on an intense process to find the best fabrics for our line Musika Frère and assemble the best team for our launch in 2014.’
