Watch 82 Seiko

This Seiko SKX007 mod watch was submitted by Mirza Avdovic. -instagram user @mirza_19

'Well, this was my first watch Ive ever designed. I did a lot of research before deciding who and what parts to modify to fit my bespoke look. I tend to always come up with new ideas and this one was a presentation of my desire for the black and brown colors. That was the theme for it.

I modeled the watch after a Rolex Submariner in the pvd color. I have plans to change the dial but its hard to find a dial i am searching for made only in 1997. That's my next restoration project.'

Watch 81 Bvlgari

'Bvlgari is a fashion watch but what I like about it is how people see it. They see it as a jeweler without taking into consideration the owners sentimentality about it. Plus it's not exactly a cheap watch, it initially cost $5000 when it came out.'

Watch 80 Rolex

This 1971 Rose Gold Rolex watch was submitted by Jenna Brown. -instagram user @jbrownk

'My husband inspired my love of watches.

When we were dating, my now husband would always send me links to watches - pictures of ones he loved or articles he thought I would find interesting. I loved spending time with him looking at watch blogs, flipping through auction catalogs, or window shopping. I loved seeing and hearing his excitement as he shared his interest with me - and his passion was contagious. I slowly found myself frequenting his favorite sites, reading about the history and evolution of watch making, asking him questions...and I slowly started to develop my own taste.

When he finally got his very first watch, he made sure it was a size we could both wear. On the days I had it on, I loved looking down at it and thinking two things: how much I loved him, and how beautiful it was. After we were married, he purchased his "forever watch" - one he'd wear every day that would eventually show the wear of use and tell a story of its own - of a life we lived together. I felt such genuine happiness for him to have something he loved and appreciated so much.

For our sixth month wedding anniversary he surprised me with a 1971 Rose Gold Rolex. Not remembering - but when he gave it to me he said it was one we had seen months earlier in an auction catalog, and after a couple years of looking at watches with him it was the first and only one he ever heard me say I loved. It is so timeless, elegant, and it perfectly matches the only other accessories he has gotten me that I love more than this watch.'

Watch 79 Audemars Piguet

This Audemars Piguet watch was submitted by Bradley Brown. -instagram user @bradley_brown

'Watches sit at the intersection of many things I love – engineering, art, fashion – so I’ve been fascinated with them for quite some time. I love looking down at my wrist and thinking about the incredible machine that hides behind the dial and how the ability to tell time in such a portable form has shaped history. But what’s been even more special is sharing my passion with my wife, friends, and family.

I love the nicks and dings and story behind vintage watches - but when it came to my own watches I was always exceedingly careful and often took it off before travel or activities. I realized the hypocrisy of that so wanted to find a watch that I could wear every day, and that over time would tell the story of my wife and I’s life together.

I’d always dreamed of owning an AP Royal Oak – I think it’s a beautiful sports watch that can be worn casually or more formally with its graceful blue face. And Genta has been so influential in watch design that it feels like wearing an important piece of watch history. I was fortunate enough to get one recently and don’t plan to take it off!'

Watch 75 Citizen

This Citizen 'Autozilla' Pro Diver watch was submitted by Harvey Neustadt III. -instagram user @mariner_7

'This watch for me is the epitome of what the strengths and abilities of a true dive watch should feature.

It uses a finely tuned miyota workhorse 8203B movement housed inside a rubber ring inside the case to make it virtually shockproof. Large crown at the 9 position to give excellent hand/wrist articulation. A remove-able bezel for cleaning, complete with lever lock mechanism to prevent accidental loosening. 1000M water resistant, titanium case with a 'duratect' coating to prevent scratching, 6mm thick sapphire domed crystal with AR coating, automatic HEV, true ISO 6425 certified.

The design is very striking, it is a large watch at 48mm case size, 55 with the crown, I believe. However the titanium construction makes it feel lightweight and the case back style and design allows it to wear very comfortably. The bezel is ashtray-esque and grips nicely because of this.

The bezel is raised so it protects the crystal very well. Very well thought out by Citizen. It features very bright blue lume and uses large hands including an orange minute hand and raised, polished edge indices, and pointed seconds hand. It also has a day/date wheel, which further solidifies this as a true tool watch.'

This 1965 Omega Speedmaster 'Pre-Pro' watch was submitted by Balthasar de Pury (instagram user @balthasardepury).

'One of the favorite timepiece in my collection, 1965 Omega Speedmaster 'Pre-Pro' (so-called 'Pre-Professional', the contracts were signed with NASA to become their official timekeeper in 1965, from 1966 the word 'Professional' was added on the dial) equipped with the famous caliber 321! The first Speedie I bought, six other followed since then and the addiction of collecting never stopped growing ;)'
