Baselworld Style

It's like going in for a sip of espresso and realizing that really what you have is pure, molten gold. The gold is delicious, it is artisan brewed and even the cup is hand crafted.

That is Baselworld. A world of watches, a mechanized cocktail of luxury.

For the week Longines kindly loaned me the 2014 Heritage piece, Majetek watch.

This vintage Longines Calatrava watch was the kick off, the starter to the wet palette for the Longines Watercolour Watch Project. see it here

The first painting in the Longines Watercolour Watch Project was this image of the Longines booth at the Baselworld main building. This is the drawing before the painting. see it here

I shared an apartment space with the guys from Time+Tide Watches. Being around Australians for 8 days was a new and interesting experience. I swear, there were times when I had no idea what was being discussed. Ask an Australian to pronounce 'Omega'.

Just outside the apartment was this beautiful church building. I wish I captured more of the architecture. It really was grand in the midst of all of the residential and commercial landscape surrounding it.

One of the days I was able to sneak the Pulsometer on my wrist for a couple of snap shots. I love the shape and simplicity. see the painting here
