Panerai Radiomir PAM 210
This Panerai Radiomir painting was a commission from very early this year. That time feels like another life. I've lived in 5 different homes since then, moved overseas, and the United States has a new president.
Right now I'm in Rome, Italy. The last 2 months have been packed with seeing Italian and Roman architecture and history and drinking lots of coffee, both moka and espresso.
Sharing this Radiomir now is apt, an Italian brand watch while I'm living in Italy. Only recently have I read into the difference between a Radiomir and a Luminor. I've been saying both of those words for the better part of three years, completely ignorant of their meaning. Thank you to Wrist Weapons I can now confidently distinguish between the two (read his article here).

A. Lange & Sohne 1815
The A. Lange & Sohne 1815
This overview is taken from alange-soehne.com, where you can find all the technical info.
The name 1815 stands for the birth year of Ferdinand A. Lange, who established Germany’s precision watchmaking industry in Glashütte. The design of the 1815 is characterised by traditional style elements: with blued hands, Arabic numerals and the railway-track minute scale, it is a worthy ambassador of Lange’s watchmaking heritage.
If you're part of the Sunflowerman email Team then you read something about birds at the end of the A. Lange email. I don't know what I was talking about lol. But if you want to join the Sunflowerman Team and get my thoughts and paintings in your inbox sign up below. I promise that sometimes I will say some weird things.

Longines: Military COSD
Longines Watercolour Watch Project.
The Longines Heritage Military COSD watch was launched at Baselworld 2015, but didn't get rolled out until this month, October 2015. It's been some time since Baselworld, since I painted this piece for the Watercolour Watch Project in collaboration with Time+Tide Watches. I now present to you, Longinges Military Heritage, 2015.
Based on a piece of equipment used by the British Special Forces during the 1940s, and marked with the COSD label to identify it as produced for the Combined Operations Command. Longines has once again reached back into its history to produce beautiful works of art for the wrist.
From the utilitarian design, the luminova hands to the green khaki nato strap the watch exists as a tribute to it's original design as a useful tool for the soldier. I imagine that if the date window existed back in the 40's it might have been included on the watch. No one wanted to advance from the trenches a day early, or a day late.
The case sits neatly at 40mm. The Caliber is an L619, Self winding mechanical movement beating at 28'800 vibrations per hours and providing 42 hours of power reserve.
